1) Beginning Acrylic – Abstract Painting
In this fun and supportive environment students learn to make their own ready to hang abstract painting. Students can choose to work from famous abstract painting reproductions (provided by teacher) or they can create their own designs. Each student will be provided with an 11”X14” canvas and all the skills necessary to create a dynamic painting.

2) Professional Artist Kit
Learn what they don’t teach you in art school. If you have been working on creating your art for a while and are ready to start exhibiting it in public places this class will help motivate and inspire you to do so. In this affordable two day workshop you will learn the administrative skills needed to promote yourself as a professional artist in person and using the internet.

Affirmations and Aspirations: Collage on Canvas

Learn skills and techniques necessary to make a successful collage while focusing on personal affirmations and aspirations. In this fun class students will work on creating a positive vision for their future based on personal goals and assets. Students will accomplish this by first writing their vision down, then matching the written statement to a concrete image – an acrylic collage. The Art of Exhibition 101

Want to show your artwork but don’t know exactly what that entails? This class will help you get your work out there in a coffee shop, restaurant, or other alternative exhibition space. Learn the basics of documenting your work, portfolio presentation, choosing the right space for your work, working with a venue owner, writing a contract, promoting the exhibition, hanging the show, and more.

The Art of Exhibition 102

Are you ready to move on from showing your art in alternative exhibition spaces? This class will show you the steps to take in finding and applying for gallery level exhibition opportunities. Learn how to build and format your resume, present your portfolio, choose the right exhibition opportunities for your work, work with a gallery owner write a contract, and more.

Using acrylics, acrylic mediums and pencil on canvas, students will create 15 postcard sized paintings in four hours. Students will receive a brief demonstration on basic color theory. They will see a variety of ways acrylics and mediums can be used to achieve different effects. Then they will use what they learned to explore on their own.

Beginning Acrylic – Still Life

In this two-day class students learn all the steps and tools necessary for making an acrylic painting from sketching out a composition to adding a final coat of varnish. Students help create a personalized still life to work from using items of significance they bring from home. If color is your fear – don’t worry. This is primarily a black and white painting project. Students do, however, get to choose one object to transform into color giving their painting a dynamic central focus.

Exploring Gouache: 20 postcard sized paintings
Using gouache, and pencil on Bristol paper students will create 20 postcard sized paintings in four hours. Students will receive a brief demonstration on basic color theory and composition. They will see a variety of ways gouache can be used to achieve different effects. Then they will use what they learned to explore on their own.

Exploring Watercolor: 20 Postcard sized paintings

Using watercolor and pencil on watercolor paper students will create 20 postcard sized paintings in four hours. Students will receive a brief demonstration of the abilities and strengths of watercolor along with basic color theory and composition. Then they will use what they learned to explore on their own.
